Steeton Reserves won the Keighley Supplementary Cup Final with a 4-3 penalty shoot out win over Oxenhope Reserves.
After the game finished 0-0, it was down to who held their nerve in the shoot out and Ross Bailey, Mark McGee, Josh Ferguson all slotted home and once Oxenhope missed their final kick. Jack Richmond stepped up to blast the ball home and ensure the cup made the journey back to Summerhill Lane.
Steeton U18s clinched the league title with a resounding win over local rivals Silsden. Jack Wrigglesworth struck a tremendous volley to open the scoring, Euan Sessford increased the lead before Jonson Butterfield headed a third. Silsden then pulled two goals back but Dom Mortimer restored the two goal advantage before further goals from Sessford and Butterfield brought the six up. Even though Silsden pulled a couple of goals back it couldn't dent the lads celebrations as they wrapped up a 6-4 win.
New Shirt Sponsor Needed
Steeton AFC are looking for a new shirt sponsor for next season following Damart's decision to not re-new their existing deal. We would like to thank Damart for all their support over the past five seasons.
The club is looking for a business to take over as the main sponsor with immediate effect, this means that the new sponsor will have their name on the team shirts for the County Cup final at Elland Road on May 19th. As a main sponsor the company can also look forward to having two boards at the ground, a link from our home page to their website, a page in the programme and their name on the front of our warm up t shirts and sweatshirts.
If anyone requires anymore info they need to contact Roy Mason via email. firstname.lastname@example.org
We are also in the process of selling advertising boards for next season. We have held the prices on these at £200 for a new board and £100 to re-new a board.
The new Hummel home shirt is pictured. However with both teams wearing green and white as their home colours, Field and ourselves will be wearing a new away kit on May 19th.
Steeton U18 clinch title
The Under 18 side are now guaranteed to at least share the under 18 league title after a 4-3 win over Farsley. An OG put us ahead before the visitors levelled. They then took the lead before Jack Wrigglesworth levelled. Farsley then re took the lead before a Josh Ferguson free kick levelled things up again. Jonson Butterfield then struck a late winner.
The result means Steeton are now level with Menston and should they take a point or more from their final game with Silsden in two weeks then they will win the title outright.
