One of the Chevvies most talented youngsters, Jack Lynn continues to grow and develop in a green and white shirt.The promising young defender, who can push further up into midfield if required, has committed for a third season with the Chevrons after firmly cementing himself as Roy Mason’s first choice left-back last season.
A product of the Football Development Programme at Bradford City, Lynn initially arrived at Marley ahead of the 2021/22 season on a youth loan from the Bantams.
Initially making sporadic appearances from the substitutes bench, it was not long before the touted youngster broke into the starting eleven.
Only missing one game throughout the remainder of the season after his first start in a home victory against Cleator Moor Celtic, Jack contributed two goals and five assists whilst also continuing to feature midweek for the Under-19’s side at Valley Parade.
His performances for the Chevvies would not go without recognition as 'Lynny' was awarded with the 2021/22 Steeton AFC Young Player of the Year.
Leaving the Football Development Programme following his 18th birthday, he made his move to Steeton a permanent one ahead of the start of last season.
Starting the season in a battle for the number three shirt with Callum Buttle, a two-goal salvo from the substitutes bench to win us an away fixture at South Liverpool in September saw Lynn firmly make the position his own.
Finishing the season with three goals and an assist to his name, it was his development into an overlapping left back who provides as much going forward as he does at the back that was his biggest progression throughout the season.
And now heading into the 2023/24 campaign, Jack joins his teammates in looking to help the club progress both on and off the pitch.
