Biography

Luke Baldwin is a familiar face that needs little introduction to the Chevvies faithful.

Now into his second spell with the Chevrons, ‘Balders’ offers Roy Mason another potent attacking threat.

Being able to play out on the wing, up front, or sitting just behind the striker, Luke will be looking to hit the ground running after a stop-start season last time around.

Coming through the youth system at Bradford City, Baldwin would depart Valley Parade as a teenager to continue his development in the Guiseley academy side.

Impressing at Nethermoor as the top goalscorer in the academy team, he would depart for pastures new in search of first team opportunities and signed with Silsden in the summer of 2017.

Immediately joining a successful side, Luke would be a part of the Cobbydalers side that won the 2017-18 NWCFL First Division North title in record breaking fashion with 103 points and 110 goals.

Following promotion, and lateral movement to NCEL, the attacker would find first time opportunities limited and in January 2019 moved west across the roundabout to sign with Steeton.

Becoming a first team regular upon arrival, Baldwin made a name for himself instantly with his speciality at dead ball situations.

With his trademark free kicks and eye for goal helping steer the side away from the relegation places and up towards the safety of mid take, he became a mainstay on the left wing for the Chevrons either side of the pandemic.

Beginning last season with a hat-trick against Cleator Moor Celtic on the opening day of the season, Luke would depart the club in October to re-join Silsden before again making the decision to head back across the roundabout and sign with Steeton once more in January.

Making an immediate impact upon return with a superb volley against South Liverpool, a combination of injury and suspension brought a frustrating early end to his season.

Having now scored 22 goals in 73 appearances up to the end of last season over his two spells with the club, a successful season both personally and in the team is the goal for 2023/24.
