Young defender Mason Brewis joined Steeton on a permanent basis in the early autumn of 2023 following a successful trial.

One of a number of youngsters signed by Roy Mason from the Bradford Park Avenue academy on the recommendation of Pat McGuire, Mason comes to Marley looking for a taste of open age football.

A product of the Bingley Juniors club, Brewis was signed by the Bradford Park Avenue academy ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Playing in the same team as Steeton teammates Josh Coe and Maddox Smyth, he made a number of impressive performances in the academy team's defence.

However, with the first team relegated from the National League North, the club were forced to make cutbacks and releases of which Mason was one.

Looking for a club throughout the summer, Brewis would find one in Steeton.

And his patience would be rewarded with a debut in the West Riding County Cup defeat to Pontefract Collieries.
